Since his student days, music has always played a significant role in Band’s art, with influences derived from the Jazz world of John Coltrane and Miles Davis, to the music of his roots especially John Martyn and The Blue Nile. Drawing on their mood, tone and spontaneity, he has found this form of expression the ideal backdrop to his often experimental and lively creative process.
